DIRECTING FOR STAGE

THE CONVENT OF PLEASURE

Sofia directed and produced Margaret Cavendish’s 1668 play The Convent of Pleasure in March 2024. The production was supported by the Sallie Bingham Grant. This grant, awarded by the not-for-profit History Matters: Celebrating Women's Plays of the Past, is a monetary award granted to support a reading series or full production of a play or plays by a historic female playwright. Sallie Bingham is a writer, teacher, feminist activist, and philanthropist who has dedicated her life to writing and promoting women’s voices.

THE WOLVES

Co-directed with Fiona Thompson, The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe tells the story of a girls' high school soccer team. Our focus on strong physicality and in-the-moment, present, acting gave the production an energetic, forward-moving, impactful feel.
